Match the toner to your laser printer
Use the complete printer model and the code on the existing toner. Similar cartridge names can cover different machines. Check the product's supported printer list before adding it to your basket.
Toner and drum units are different
Toner supplies the printing powder; the drum is involved in transferring the image. Some printers combine components in one cartridge, while others have separate replaceable units. A drum warning does not automatically mean you need new toner.
Black toner or individual colours?
A monochrome laser printer uses black toner. Colour machines commonly have separate black, cyan, magenta and yellow supplies. Check the colour stated in the listing and the contents of any multipack.
Compare capacity, not just price
Standard and higher-yield options may be available for a model. Compare the stated yield and quantity, and confirm that the capacity version fits your printer. Page yield is a comparison figure, not a promise of an exact number of prints.
Original and alternative toner
Original toner carries the printer manufacturer's brand. Compatible or remanufactured alternatives may also be listed. Choose using the exact product details, compatibility information and your requirements—not just the shape of the cartridge.
Common questions
The printer says replace drum. Should I buy toner?
Check the manual and the exact message first. Where the drum and toner are separate, replacing toner will not replace the drum.
What should I have ready when I call?
The full printer model, the toner or drum code if available, and the exact message shown by the printer will help explain what you need.
